A third of motorists have driven a car knowing the MOT had expired, risking fines of up to £1,000 and invalidating their insurance in the process. That’s according to a survey conducted by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), which found that of 1,000 UK motorists, 67% had driven without an MOT for up to a week, 24% for a month, 7% for six months and – shockingly – 2% for more than six months. Now we’d give the 67% who admitted driving without an MOT for a week the benefit of the doubt – it’s easy to forget the test is due.
BMW has enlisted the BMW M135i, DTM driver Martin Tomczyk and the Zurich Acapella Group to create the fastest Christmas song in the world. The BMW M135i may not be a ‘real’ BMW M car, but it’s still mighty swift. The 2012 Mercedes A-Class is being teased on video ahead of a Geneva 2012 debut in conjunction with a ‘QR Code’ competition. With Detroit pretty much done and dusted, it’s time for car makers to begin teasing their offerings for Geneva 2012 (which we saw some of even before Detroit). Today it’s the turn of Mercedes with a video tease for the 2012 Mercedes A-Class, coupled with a competition too (although that seems to be just for Germany).
